Write for Cornelia
We’re looking for feature-length articles (1500-2000 words) on visual arts-related topics that have some connection to our region, current exhibitions in the region, or current events that impact visual arts in our region. This might look like a critical investigation of a single exhibition or series of exhibitions, interviews with artists or art workers, a photo series, or something else you’ve been stewing on as long as it relates to recent events in the region.
We are open to submissions from all kinds of writers at all skill levels, as long as they are open to being edited!
We pay writers $450 USD per article.
Pitching Process
If you have an idea for a feature, submit a pitch! You don’t need to write the whole article, just give us a sense of what you want to write about, what your thesis is, and why you think it belongs in Cornelia.
We review pitches as they come in and will notify you as early as possible if your pitch is selected.
We use a submission form so we can keep track of everything. Pitches that come through email are often lost, so use the button below!

Looking for your work/exhibition/project to be covered in Cornelia?
We don’t take submissions straight from institutions or artists, but we can offer some tips on how to get something covered.
Invite writers you think might be interested to your show and tell them about Cornelia as well as other local or national publications you’d like to see the project covered in.
Describe your project in relation to larger dialogues or discourses in our region or in the world.
Make sure to take really good photos of your work, or hire a photographer. Occasionally, we can’t run a story in print because we don’t have high-resolution photos.
